  I would suggest further sales and customer service training to ensure that your sales assistants actually service the customers, not themselves.

  I was then told that one pair of shoes weren't purchased from Mathews. I argued that they had, only to be told that they didn't sell that brand and that the shoes I had with me didn't match those that were on the docket. I argued that that was impossible as both pairs had been purchased in the buy one get a second pair half price sale. The sales assistant then conceded that the Chermside store did infact sell that brand and that i should take them back to the Chermside store as this is where I purchased them from.

  The sales assistant took one look at the receipt and told me that they had a two week time frame for returns and as I was over this period I couldn't have a refund. I had to explain again that we just wanted to exchange the shoes for the right size, not get our money back.

  Thanks so much to Hamish for his excellent customer service. A friend and I brought in sandals that we had purchased there some time ago that were defective. They were quite expensive so we wanted the manufacturers to know. Hamish checked our details and was able to replace the sandals. My size wasn't in stock so he said he would organise delivery to my home. The other staff in the store were fabulous as well. While we were waiting for the computer system to provide sufficient details, we had our feet checked for size and balance. Well done to everyone at Mathers Carindale.

  I would not recommend the Carindale store to anyone after this exchange. It is completely out of line to tell a customer that they are wrong when they aren't, but for another sales assistant to start talking about the customers at the POS as if they weren't standing right in front of them is completely unacceptable.

  Truly appalling customer service. After purchasing two paid of shoes for my partner as a birthday gift at the Chermside store (great customer service btw) we returned the shoes to the Carindale store to exchange as I had purchased the wrong size.

  After I questioned why, she went out the back to the manager and came back to say it was fine, that I could in fact exchange them at the Carindale store.

  We eventually found the right sizes and returned to the counter to complete the exchange. As the sales assistant was putting the exchange through, another sales assistant began to question the lady as to why she was exchanging shoes that the Carindale store did not stock. When the lady explained that the manager had said it was okay to do this, she continued on, saying that the customer should have taken the shoes back to the Chermside store and that someone would be very angry about this. This was all said in front of us, the customers.
